We've spent the last two days in Edinburgh. It's been reasonably rainy but we did get out to see a few sights.
Yesterday we went to Edinburgh Castle which is perched on top of an extinct volcano in the middle of town. As such it has a very commanding view of the city and a long history as a defensive castle.

Today we caught the obligatory bus tour - it's probably the most concise way to get a city overview. We did the run up to Royal Mile to the castle and then went back to the bottom and visited Holyroodhouse Palace - sort of a royal palace and museum.

We then climbed the Salisbury Crags, part of the park associated with Holyrood. Got a couple nice pictures of the city from the top. You can just sort of make out the castle on the 'hill' on the right side of the picture.

Definitely too little time here but such is vacation. By the way, Andrea updated her Picasa with some more photos from Paris - the link is on the navigation area on the right side of the blog. Also, the comments on the blog seem to have sorted themselves out... huh?
